1955 Oldsmobile 88 Sedan
Customer Profile: Ray B.
Background
Ray bought his 1955 Oldsmobile in 2000 as a “father and son” project with plans to restore the car. However, he had to wait until his retirement (in 2018) to find the time for the restoration. His hope was to keep the Olds as close to original as possible. The engine and transmission were both rebuilt in 2019. The body work began in 2021 but was not completed until early 2025. He had it painted the original two-tone blue, Panama blue and Frost blue. He also wanted the interior, which was in rough shape, to be as close to original as possible.
Why He Chose UPHOLSTERY LAB
I learned of Danielle and Francisco through a friend of mine who was also into restoring classic cars. Danielle had previously upholstered one of his classics! They worked with me to find the original material, which was still available. They reupholstered the entire interior; seats, headliner, wind lace, carpet, door panels, package tray, and even the trunk! They took a real interest in my Olds which assured me that they were going to do a great job.
The Result
AND THEY DID! The quality of workmanship is outstanding! I am so pleased with the interior now. It looks like it did in 1955 when it rolled off the assembly line, maybe better. Thank you Upholstery Lab for helping me realize a dream!
